Non-Format is a design duo separated by time and space. Seven whole timezones and 4000 miles stand between Norwegian designer Kjell Ekhorn’s Oslo studio and that of his British counterpart, Jon Forss, in the Twin Cities, USA. Their time-sheets may be a shambles, but their work is not. They have a mutual passion for experimental typography and expressive image-making, which manifests itself in the award-winning work they produce for clients all around the world, which include Adobe, Coca-Cola, IBM, Nike and Rick Owens, to name just a few. Their work is also in the permanent collections of the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum and Norway’s National Museum. In 2015 they partnered with Norwegian design mega-studio ANTI, where they continue to win design awards, and to struggle with their time-sheets.
